Perhaps you’ve heard the talk about Mack’s newest truck, the Titan by Mack? At Ballard Mack, we’re hearing a whole lot of wows. That’s because after months of anticipation, the first Titan tractor rolled into our yard in January. And no matter what you’ve heard, seeing is believing when it comes to this powerful truck.
“A dozen people stopped to look at the Titan in the first couple days,” says Sales Manager Len Jellesma. “It’s an impressive truck! Measuring 54 inches from the ground to the cab floor, it’s more than a foot taller than our regular heavy haul tractor, and the cab roof is almost a full 10 feet from the ground.”
Several dealership personnel also had the chance to go for a ride.
“The Titan is something to drive!This was also our first experience with Mack’s new 16-liter MP10 engine,” says Jellesma.“At 605hp, it’s the most powerful engine Mack has ever offered. It’s hard to tell just how powerful the truck is without a load, but what you can see and feel right away is how smooth it is.”
The Titan isn’t going to be for everyone.
It’s aimed at extreme heavy-haul applications where 600 horsepower is a necessity and not a luxury. “And yet the interior is as nice as any we’ve seen,” says Jellesma. “And even with all that power, the truck is surprisingly quiet.”
The Titan is available in many configurations. It can be set up as a tractor, heavy-haul roll off, logger, dump truck, or any unique application our customers have in mind.
